Launching The Basics Alamance: Strengthening Early Childhood Development Countywide

Hold for Impact Video clip

In 2025, Impact Alamance partnered with the Alamance Partnership for Children to soft-launch The Basics Alamance, a countywide pilot of the national Basics Learning Network. This evidence-based initiative provides families of children ages 0-5 with the tools and knowledge to support healthy early development, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and success.

The Basics Alamance is a free service that sends weekly text tips based on five principles of early childhood development:

Grounded in brain science, these tips provide families with practical strategies to promote healthy brain development during a child’s formative years.

Impact Alamance invested $35,000 to fund promotional materials that will help advance the adoption of The Basics in our community. This effort is part of a broader statewide initiative, supported by organizations such as the North Carolina Partnership for Children and the North Carolina Early Childhood Funders Collaborative.

Beyond financial support, Impact Alamance is leading strategic marketing efforts, including planning and the development of county-specific communications materials. These steps are critical to building awareness and ensuring families have access to resources that foster socio-emotional growth, self-regulation, and academic achievement.

Looking ahead, we’re committed to advancing The Basics Alamance so every child in our county has a strong start in life.
