Building Brighter Play Spaces:
Impact Alamance Invests in My Backyard Exhibit

This year, Impact Alamance partnered with the Children’s Museum of Alamance County to transform outdoor play—an investment that underscores the museum’s importance as a hub for creativity, learning, and community connection.

For years, the museum’s My Backyard exhibit has been a favorite destination for families, a place that fosters imagination and friendship. Thanks to a $14,000 grant from Impact Alamance,  this beloved space received a vibrant upgrade that invites even more adventure.

At the heart of this transformation is a vibrant firetruck-themed play structure—complete with slides, a climbing wall, and interactive elements designed to spark imaginative play. The sandbox has also been refreshed with fresh sand, a sturdy sand digger, and sifter scoops, creating endless opportunities for hands-on exploration.

For the more than 40,000 children and families that visit the museum every year, these enhancements are more than just fun, they’re building blocks for growth. Play fosters creativity, strengthens social skills, and supports healthy development. It’s where problem-solving begins, confidence takes shape, and lifelong learning is sparked.

By investing in spaces that nurture gross motor skills, social interaction, and early learning, Impact Alamance is helping ensure that every child has room to grow, imagine, and thrive. Because when children play, communities flourish.
