Advancing Accessibility Across Cedarock Park

Long valued as a place for recreation, Cedarock Park is being thoughtfully enhanced to better serve residents of all abilities. Through a shared commitment to inclusion, the park is evolving into a space where safety, access, and dignity are built into the experience. These improvements reflect a growing understanding that healthier communities are rooted in environments where everyone feels welcome and supported.

To help bring this vision to life, Impact Alamance invested a total of $50,000 in matching funds—$20,000 awarded in 2025 and $30,000 previously—supporting Alamance Parks in securing a $300,000 grant from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund. With this combined investment, Cedarock Park is undergoing meaningful upgrades designed to remove barriers and expand access, including ADA-accessible campsites, an upgraded fishing pier, mechanized doors at the park office, expanded accessible pathways, remodeled restrooms with adult changing tables, and improved ADA compliance. Additional accessible parking near key amenities strengthens park-wide connectivity, ensuring a more seamless experience for all visitors.

This work directly advances Impact Alamance’s Healthier priority area by strengthening the community’s capacity to protect and enhance collective well-being. By partnering to create inclusive outdoor environments that promote physical activity, emotional well-being, and connection, Impact Alamance is helping ensure Cedarock Park remains a place where everyone in Alamance County can experience health, dignity, and opportunity—now and for generations to come.
